A state university with national gravity

USP’s homepage organizes itself around missão, visão, valores, and strategic objectives in management and governance—then pivots to ensino, pesquisa, cultura e extensão, and inclusão. That quartet is the Brazilian public-university contract: teach, discover, extend culture, and open doors. Outside Brazil, USP is a ranking brand. Inside São Paulo it is infrastructure—hospitals, museums drawing more than a million visitors a year, libraries, and graduates who staff companies from Avenida Paulista to Campinas’s tech belt.
